Bob Noss, Assistant Athletic Director of Wright State University
-15 year tenure @ Wright State University
-Started his athletic administration career at Maryville University in St. Louis, MO
-Small NCAA Division III School
-Got his foot in the door there in sports information
-Enjoyed being in the background, rather than on the sidelines
-Later enjoyed his Graduate Assistantship at Southern Illinois and later at Central Missouri
-Encouraged students to “get involved” in sport management as soon as possible in an internship
-Talked about the importance of “networking” within the sport world
-His most exciting part of the job is traveling and winning championships
-His greatest dislike of his work is dealing with difficult personalities and attitudes in sport
-He stressed the importance of spending time with family in the midst of a hectic work schedule
-Spoke about the specific Wright State Vision for the Athletic Department
-Wright State Athletic Department Vision: “To be nationally recognized for excellence in athletic competition, academics and personal development of our student-athletes.”
