Introduction
Dr. Tuinstra has been teaching electrical engineering at Cedarville University in Ohio since 2002. Before coming to Cedarville, he was a Senior Engineer with General Dynamics for five years where he primarily did work with synthetic aperature RADAR (SAR) and satellite communication systems. His doctoral research involved computer processing of computed tomography (CT) imagery to characterize lung cancer. His engineering interests include signal and image processing, medical imaging, computational intelligence, and information theory among other things. He is the faculty advisor for the CU Robotic Boat team.
Dr. Tuinstra is an Elder at Grace Covenant Church in Beavercreek, Ohio where he teaches Adult Bible Fellowship, occasionally preaches, and generally enjoys caring for God's flock.
In his "spare time", Dr. Tuinstra loves to spend time with his wife and 3 boys, read good books, and generally to enjoy God and his good gifts.
