I had the opportunity to travel to Clarinda, Iowa with the Tom Daugherty Orchestra to play at the Glenn Miller Festival held there. (Glenn was born and raised in Clarinda). I was able to meet Norman Leyden, who was an arranger for the Glenn Miller AAF Band during World War II. He has also arranged for such greats as Sara Vaughn and Frank Sinatra. This man can still play a mean clarinet as well.
