Organizations

The National Weather Service (NWS) - Governmental agency responsible for weather forecasting.
NWS station at Wilmington, OH - This station performs vertical soundings twice a day and operates a doppler radar for our portion of the country.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - Governmental agency responsible for space borne observations of the earth.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - Oversees all oceanic and atmospheric work.  Is the parent agency for the National Weather Service.
Environmental Modeling Center - This component of the National Weather Service manages numerical prediction systems for weather, sea ice, pollution, .... Links to each of the 20+ systems are present on this page.
NOMADS - NOAA Operational Model Archive and Distribution System This site provides data for the models supported by the Environmental Modeling Center.
National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) - A primary center for climate and weather research.

Earth Science Data - Contains Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) - This research center is located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and addresses issues of the Carbon cycle in the atmosphere and its environmental impact.
Geostationary Satellite Server - This web site provides current and archived images from the GOES satellites.  The GOES satellite program is under the jurisdiction of NOAA. (Shift to GOES-R is making this site obsolete.)
GOES-R Information - This series starts with GOES-16 and subsequent satellites.
