Studying

Well, I’m up late studying for my finals, and finishing a paper when I came across this line in a chapter about critical thinking:

“The art of thinking about your thinking while you are thinking in order to make your thinking better:  more clear, more accurate, or more defensible.”

Wow.  That is all I can say.  Wow.  Who was smoking what when they wrote that, and why am I still up?  All good questions.

On a different note:  I am so lucky to have the people in my life right now that I do.  First, my girlfriend Leslie:  She is so wonderful, and I am so lucky to have her.  I am so very glad that I met a Godly woman who I can share my heart with, pray with, and have so much fun with.  And speaking of Leslie, Sunday was our 4 year, 2 month anniversary!  Woot woot!  Phil:  I’ve only known him for 2 ½ years now, but I feel like I’ve known him forever.  Sure things are changing, but I’ll always be there for him, and I know he’ll be there for me.  My family:  I am just now realizing, after almost 21 years, how important family is.  I regret not loving my brothers and parents more, and not letting them know that I do love them.  I heard this quote, and it definitely applies here, “You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.”  I’ve said that to Leslie, and I mean it with all of my heart, but I think I could start applying that to my family life as well.  So if you’re reading this, Dad, Mom, Ben, Jon, and Matt… I love you.  And for all of my friends:  I know I don’t make time for all of you when I know I can, and I am sorry for that.  I just thank you for being who you are, never stop, and never care about what anyone thinks of you.

As I was writing this on my desktop, my laptop’s screen saver was rolling, and all of my pictures were going by.  Here’s a few things I thought about:

Leslie Stamper is freaking awesome.

Phil and I had some great times.

I miss Lakeside.

I miss Field Training (4 weeks from 0430-0930 every day with the same people going through hard times really changes you)

My Bro Phil and Leslie’s Bro Jonah about to duel

Always thinking of Her

Movies

I went to this facebook group called, “You’re a 90’s kid if,” and boy did that bring back some memories.  Here’s a link to my Xanga where I have them listed:  My Xanga

So yeah, that’s freaking awesome.  So with all of those things going through my head, I’ve been remembering old movies from when I was a kid.  And it’s crazy to me that some people have not only not seen some of these classic movies, they’ve never even heard of them.  Sad.  One example would be 3 Ninjas.  AWESOME MOVIE!!  Rofl.  Leslie, Phil, Anneberlin, and Danielle have never even heard of it. What were they doing when they were kids?  Don’t know.

Speaking of ninjas, I bought a ninja suit yesterday.  It was only 25 bucks, so come on, I had to.  Phil and I are going to do some sweet action on campus, and Nate’s going to video tape us.

I’m back

Well, it’s been a week since I got back from Field Training, and boy has it been a week.  But I will say, being forced to do nothing but sit and play video games all week isn’t that bad, lol.  I’m getting better at BF2, and I’ve been playing random games on the xbox too.  Tons of fun.  I’m also just sitting around waiting for Leslie to get back from Australia!  Woot woot!  She gets back Saturday night, and I’m going with her fam to pick her up from teh Columbus Airport.  It’ll be crazy when she gets back, I’m pretty sure she has thousands of pictures, no rofl.  And speaking of pictures, I said I’d put most of my pictures up, so here you go.

Stealers

I’m not sure how many of you know, but a little hobby of mine is inventing/making things, e.g. glasses that you can watch television on, or making up commercials.  A great commercial of mine is for a used car dealership, and they have a 1988 car like my old one sitting across from a 2006 car of the same color.  Two men walk up to the cars at the same time and try to enter their vehicles.  After a few seconds of trying, the men look up, say, “I’m Sorry,” and then switch cars and drive away.  But one of my commercials that I took great pride in was this commercial:  You see a man answer his phone, he then replies, “Yes.”  He repeats himself 5 times before the scene changes and it’s the same guy on the phone saying, “Yes.  Yes.  Yes.  Yes.”  And finally he starts getting mad and screams his yes’s until he throws the phone away in anger.  He then looks at the camera and holds up his fingers for the Verizon sign.

If you haven’t already gotten the commercial, it is the man answering the, “Can you hear me now?” question.  Well, the other day on Google Video, Leslie’s dad showed us that exact commercial (plus a few swear words here or there).  Those idiots stole my idea!!!!!  I came up with that commercial like a year ago.  And about the glasses that shows tv, Mission Impossible 2, one of the first scenes, same thing kinda.

UPDATE!

So Phil and Leslie have been yelling at me to update… so here goes.  I’m sitting here at Leslie’s house with my computer just having a grand ole time.  We had to get up early early early to be at church at 8:30 this morning, but I had fun playing bass in worship band today, it’s the first time I’ve ever played the bass in front of people before.  Let’s see…hmm… Friday night Leslie, Phil, Mark, Rachel and I went to my house to watch a movie.  Mark’s a friend from CU, and Rachel is a friend from the Bell of WHAT brook (they looked mighty cute to me).  Snack attack mother muhaha!!!!!!!!!! But we watched The Forgotten, one of the weirder movies ever made.  Then we had to leave my house to make it in time for curfew L.  I made good time and got Mark and Leslie back in time, but I was three minutes late, so there goes three whole dollars.

Then Saturday I got to sleep in, then Leslie and I headed over to her house to watch some movies and do some studying.  Maybe a little more of the former than of the latter.  Phil soon joined in a poignant mood (Love ya buddy!!!  Not-sexual, not even a nonsexual man crush kinda way).  We watched Spies Like Us, Dumb and Dumber, and Half of Gladiator.  All great movies.  Phil had never seen Dumb and Dumber, and I do not see how.  It is an amazing movie, a very smart and intelligent movie.  Then I finally went home and went to bed so I could get up in time for church.

In the school world, I’m taking Physics 2, Calculus III, Differential Equations, Old Testament, Foundations of Social Science, and Air Force Way.  I’m liking Soc Sci, even though a lot of people didn’t like it too much.  Calc III is going to be fun… I have Braithwaite again…  So that’s it for classes.

We’ve been having fun with Google Video lately.  Here’s some good ones.
