Dr. Tuinstra has been teaching electrical engineering at Cedarville University in Ohio since 2002. He holds the BSEE from Cedarville University, the MSEE from the University of Dayton, and the Ph.D. from the University of Dayton. Before coming to Cedarville, he was a Senior Engineer with General Dynamics for five years where he primarily did work with synthetic aperature RADAR (SAR) and satellite communication systems. His doctoral research involved computer processing of computed tomography (CT) imagery to characterize lung cancer. His engineering interests include signal and image processing, medical imaging, computational intelligence, and communications theory among other things.
More recently, Dr. T. has been "dabbling" in chaos theory, complex systems theory, and game theory.
In his "spare time", Dr. Tuinstra loves to spend time with his family, read good books, and generally to enjoy God and his good gifts. |
