Family
My oldest daughter, Kaylea (now 4 1/2). This picture was taken at the Braemar Gathering (Braemar, Scotland) where the Highland games are held each year. Kaylea is about 3 years old here and sporting her "piper" outfit. She LOVES anything that has to do with bagpipes, and so she always loved going to the Highland games.

I've titled this picture, "golden summer breeze." Don't you just feel warm looking at it? I love the little tan bodies standing so freely on our somewhat golden brown lawn, brown because it had seen a lot more sun than rain that summer--our first one in Ohio.

Aubrey Kate, our little monkey! This picture fits her personality. She's always laughing (when she's not crying!); always up for a good time. Here, we were camping by Loch Lommond in southwest Scotland (just north of Glasgow). Don't let the coat, long pants, and snow-boots fool you--the picture was taken in early September!

One of our first hikes in Ohio. We love to take family hikes, and so we were very excited to discover this waterfall off a trail just about 1 mile from Cedarville University where I work. Kaylea looks happy, but Aubrey Kate looks like I just told her that I was going to throw her off the cliff! Sometimes she has that blank stare on her face, when she's not laughing of course.

A cold summer day in beautiful Scotland. Here, we are riding the trails with Chris's mom and pop, or "nannie" and "coucou" as our daughters call them. Scotland is a thrilling place to live, as long as you got a good rain coat!

My pop in law, Howard (left), my bro in law, Benj (middle), and me on the right on top of Loch Nagar (I don't think I spelled that right!). This was one of the only times in the 3 years that I was in Scotland where no matter how high we climbed, the sky stayed blue the whole way! What a beautiful day; what a fantastic hike!
