One of my favorite ways to spend a summer

afternoon is to curl up with a good book.  Like many

of you, I can read for hours on end.  This photo shows

our new patio area where John and I enjoy coffee in

the morning, reading the newspaper or visiting with

friends.

It’s so relaxing to grab a good book and

spend quality time simply reading.  The one problem

about sitting quietly outside, is that I notice all the

things that need to be done in the yard.  More often

than not, I jump up and begin weeding or dead-

heading plants.

Gardening is another favorite activity of

mine.  If you love the outdoors too, you know how

easy it can be to head outside to work just a

short time, and end up spending hours puttering

around.

My husband John and I live in the small

town of  Xenia, Ohio, where we raised our two sons

and all sorts of pets!  John is on the faculty of

Cedarville University and I am an adjunct

instructor there.  We are both in the Education Department and truly enjoy working with the

university students and getting to know them

personally.  If you click on our picture, you will

be taken to my photo album.
