The National Weather Service (NWS) - Governmental agency responsible for weather forecasting.
NWS station at Wilmington, OH - This station performs vertical soundings twice a day and operates a doppler radar for our portion of the country.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) - Governmental agency responsible for space borne observations of the earth.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - Oversees all oceanic and atmospheric work.  Is the parent agency for the National Weather Service.
National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) - A primary center for climate and weather research.
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) - United Nations agency for international meteorology efforts.

Useful Information and Source of Lecture Images

Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) - This research center is located at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and addresses issues of the Carbon cycle in the atmosphere and its environmental impact.
Geostationary Satellite Server - This web site provides current and archived images from the GOES satellites.  The GOES satellite program is under the jurisdiction of NOAA.
The Remote Sensing Tutorial - This document addresses key issues related to satellite remote sensing of the earth and its atmosphere.  It is sponsored by the Applied Information Sciences Branch at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center
